Jan Drzeżdżon będzie patronem szkoły podstawowej w Lubocinie w gminie Krokowa. W placówce dobiegają końca przygotowania, których zwieńczeniem będzie uroczystość 16 maja. Zasług Jana Drzeżdżona dla kaszubskiej literatury nie da się przecenić – to dzięki niemu ujrzało światło dzienne wiele pisanych w tym języku utworów. A polskojęzyczne pisarstwo Drzeżdżona uchodzi wśród krytyków literackich do dzisiaj za zjawisko unikatowe. Jego imię otrzyma w najbliższy piątek placówka na Nordzie wyjątkowa – w której dzieci ze wszystkich klas uczą się języka kaszubskiego. – Od roku też intensywnie poznawała twórczość nowego patrona, a postępy były sprawdzane w różnego rodzaju konkursach na temat jego życia i twórczości – opisuje dyrektor podstawówki w Lubocinie Mirosława Roraff. Jan Drzeżdżon był na początku lat pięćdziesiątych przez rok nauczycielem w Lubocinie, okoliczni mieszkańcy zachowali go we wdzięcznej pamięci, podobnie jak jego uczennice, które podzieliły się swoimi wspomnieniami z uczniami podstawówki.
