Instytut Kaszubski świętuje 20-lecie
250 wydanych książek, setki seminariów i konferencji – to owoc 20 lat działalności Instytutu Kaszubskiego. Jego członkowie wczoraj w Gdańsku rozpoczęli obchody jubileuszu.
– Efektem ich pracy jest ponad 250 wydanych książek – mówi prezes Instytutu prof. Cezary Obracht Prądzyński.
Instytut Kaszubski powstał w 1996 roku by integrować kaszubsko-pomorskie środowisko naukowe. Liczba członków przez 20 lat wzrosła z 25. do prawie 130. osób, które pochodzą głównie z Pomorza i Polski, ale też Japonii, Stanów Zjednoczonych, Niemiec i Czech. Celem działania Instytutu było od początku prowadzenie szerokich badań o historii i współczesności Kaszubów. Drugim zadaniem jest wciąż popularyzowanie tej wiedzy i docieranie do szerokiego kręgu odbiorców – podkreśla założyciel Instytutu prof. Józef Borzyszkowski. W ramach obchodów 20-lecia Instytutu Kaszubskiego odbywają się promocje książek i seminaria naukowe. Uroczyste spotkanie jubileuszowe odbędzie się w sobotę o godzinie 12:00 na Wydziale Historycznym Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego.
