II Liceum Ogólnokształcące w Wejherowie zamknięte
To koniec drugiego Lieum Ogólnokształcącego w Wejherowie – uchwałę intencyjną w sprawie likwidacji placówki tamtejsi radni podjęli dzisiaj na nadzwyczajnej sesji rady miasta.
Wejherowski ogólniak jest jedyną szkołą średnią prowadzoną przez miejski samorząd i należy do największego w mieście Zespołu Szkół Ogólnokształcących nr 2. Likwidację liceum wymusił rozwój demograficzny Wejherowa.
– Mamy zbyt mało miejsc dla młodszych uczniów, zwłaszcza w gimnazjach i zerówkach – tłumaczy zastępca prezydenta Wejherowa Piotr Bochiński.
Działanie liceum ma być wygaszane stopniowo – już w tym roku szkolnym wstrzymano nabór do klas pierwszych, w przyszłym liczba oddziałów w ogólniaku zmniejszy się z 9-u do 5-u. Całkowite zamknięcie placówki ma nastąpić w roku szkolnym 2017/2018, a nauczyciele mają zostać przeniesieni do utworzonego kilka miesięcy temu gimnazjum nr 5. Po ponad godzinnej dyskusji wniosek poparło 17-u radnych, czterech wstrzymało się od głosu. Wątpliwości budził nadzwyczajny tryb sesji. – Zabrakło rozmów z nauczycielami i spotkań komisji oświaty w tej sprawie – mówi radna Teresa Skowrońska.
W wejherowskim ZSP nr 2 działa obecnie 49 oddziałów szkół podstawowej, gimnazjalnej i średniej, w których uczy się 1 tysiąc 250-ciu uczniów.
