W wejherowskiej 11-tce świętowali Dzień Jedności Kaszubów
Historia, tradycja i rycerze – tak Dzień Jedności Kaszubów już dziś świętowano w Wejherowie w Szkole Podstawowej nr 11.
– Chodzi nam m.in. o refleksję nad kaszubską historią, a nie o kolejny folklorystyczny piknik – mówi Karol Rhode, nauczyciel języka kaszubskiego w 11 i jedna z osób, które w 2004 roku w Gdańsku zainicjowały obchody Dnia Jedności Kaszubów.
Średniowiecze i rycerstwo to nawiązanie do w bulli papieża Grzegorza IX, który 19 marca 1238 roku zatytułował księcia szczecińskiego „księciem Kaszubów”. To pierwsza, znana pisemna wzmianka o Kaszubach.
Jak dodaje Karol Rhode, chodzi też o kształtowanie kaszubskiej świadomości najmłodszych. To czwarte obchody Dnia Jedności Kaszubów w wejherowskiej 11-ce i cieszyły się dużym zainteresowaniem. Jak zdradza nam dyrektor szkoły Andrzej Gredecki – dzieci garną się do kaszubszczyzny.
Dzień Jedności Kaszubów obchodzimy 19 marca. Ze względu na wojewódzki konkurs języka polskiego dla gimnazjalistów w wejherowskiej placówce obchody odbyły się z jednodniowym wyprzedzeniem.
