Gminny Ośrodek Kultury w Somoninie świętuje 50-lecie istnienia. Jutro z tej okazji odbędzie się uroczysta gala. Pół wieku temu ośrodek zaczynał działalność dysponując perkusją, dwoma gitarami i akordeonem.
– Nie uznajemy tzw. ‚„martwego sezonu”, staramy się o każdej porze roku zapewnić mieszkańcom rozrywkę – mówi Marian Kowalewski, który dyrektorem ośrodka jest od 1994 roku.
Wyposażono go też w nowoczesny jak na tamte czasy telewizor, radioodbiornik i adapter. Dziś w GOK w Somoninie mieści się biblioteka, kawiarenka internetowa oraz informacja turystyczna. Placówka organizuje około 60-u wydarzeń rocznie, najbardziej znane to: Ostrzyckie Lato, Wiśta Wio, Bëlny Wic, czy Mistrzostwa Kaszub w Powożeniu na Szlópie. Uroczysta gala jubileuszowa dla współpracujących z GOK w Somoninie odbędzie się jutro w południe w Ostrzycach. Poprzedzi ją o godzinie 11:00 msza święta.
