– Przez najbliższe 3 miesiące urzędnicy będą przeprowadzać ankiety, które powinno wypełnić przynajmniej 25% mieszkańców uprawnionych do głosowania. Jeśli połowa z nich wyrazi zgodę, w gminie w 23 miejscowościach pojawią się dwujęzyczne nazwy – mówi wójt Jerzy Pernal.
– Czy akceptuje Pan/Pani wprowadzenie dodatkowej nazwy miejscowości w języku kaszubskim – mieszkańców gminy Cewice pytają gminni urzędnicy. Rozpoczynają się tam konsultacje społeczne w sprawie dwujęzycznych nazw miejscowości w języku polskim i kaszubskim. Cewice to najbardziej kaszubska gmina w powiecie lęborskim. Z danych ostatniego Spisu Powszechnego wynika, że językiem kaszubskim posługuje się tu ponad 10% mieszkańców. Do tego prawie pół tysiąca dzieci uczy się rodnej mowy w szkole. Z wnioskiem do Rady Gminy w sprawie dwujęzycznych nazw wystąpili przedstawiciele miejscowego Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko-Pomorskiego oraz stowarzyszeń „Rozwój Bukowiny” i „Rozwój Sołectwa Popowo”. Odpowiednie uchwały podjęła już Rada Gminy, a ostateczną decyzję podejmą sami mieszkańcy. Konsultacje społeczne potrwają w gminie Cewice do 2 stycznia. Wymiana tablic będzie finansowana z Ministerstwa Administracji i Cyfryzacji.
