GDYNIA: Stacjonarne hospicjum dla dzieci otwarte
Stacjonarne hospicjum dla dzieci w Gdyni już otwarte. Placówka nosi nazwę Bursztynowa Przystań i jest pierwszą tego typu na Pomorzu i jedną z pierwszych w kraju. Miejsce, w którym nieuleczalnie chorzy, mali pacjenci znajdą fachową pomoc powstało dzięki zaangażowaniu Stowarzyszenia Hospicjum im. Św. Wawrzyńca, władz Gdyni, setek wolontariuszy i tysięcy darczyńców. Działkę pod budowę stacjonarnego domu hospicyjnego dla dzieci przekazało miasto. Projekt bezpłatnie przygotował zespół architektów, koszt inwestycji pokryły pieniądze z 1% podatków przekazywanych Stowarzyszeniu oraz datki zbierane przez setki wolontariuszy – w tym ostatnio w Rumi, Pierwoszynie i Gdyni przy okazji świąt listopadowych. Dzięki hojności darczyńców placówkę zbudowano i wyposażono kilkanaście miesięcy – prace rozpoczęły się w czerwcu ubiegłego roku. Hospicjum dla dzieci mieści się w Gdyni przy ulicy Dickmana. W obiekcie oprócz 15 pokoi dla chorych, gabinetów lekarskich, zabiegowych i rehabilitacyjnych są także m.in. ogród zimowy, kino i przestronna świetlica z kominkiem. Do nowego obiektu przeniosą się również Poradnia Medycyny Paliatywnej i Leczenia Bólu. Pierwsi pacjenci mają być przyjęci tuż po nowym roku.
