Gdynia jest gotowa na zimę – deklarują tamtejsze służby. Na zimową aurę przygotowany jest m.in. Gdyński Zarząd Dróg i Zieleni, który razem z podwykonawcami zadba o 460 km dróg. Koszt ich utrzymania będzie zależał od intensywności opadów śniegu, kosztowne są też przejścia temperatury od -2 do +2 stopni C.
Bazując na doświadczeniach poprzednich sezonów budżet ustalono na około 20 mln zł. W Gdyni apelują do właścicieli i zarządców nieruchomości by dbali o odśnieżanie chodników przy posesjach. Będzie to egzekwować straż miejska, która już rozdaje ulotki informacyjne. Gdynia jest też gotowa nieść dodatkową pomoc osobom bezdomnym i zagrożonym wychłodzeniem. Na bieżąco są uaktualniane zestawienia miejsc, gdzie w Gdyni przebywają osoby bezdomne. Podobnie jak w ubiegłych latach w okresie niskich temperatur organizowane będą też wspólne patrole pracowników MOPS ze strażą i policją.
