Dzisiaj z Helu wyruszyła najdłuższa w Polsce pielgrzymka na Jasną Górę. Kaszubscy pątnicy z Helu będą pielgrzymować 19 dni pokonując 640 km.
Kaszubska pielgrzymka wyruszyła już po raz trzydziesty drugi. Przypomnijmy, że pierwszy raz została zorganizowana w 1982 roku, kiedy obchodzono jubileusz 600-t lecia obecności ikony Matki Bożej na Jasnej Górze. Kaszubi wyruszyli wtedy z hasłem „600 km na 600 lecie”. Założycielem pielgrzymki był ks. Zygmunt Trela, proboszcz z Mechowa w powiecie puckim. Obecnie od wielu lat kierownikiem grupy jest ksiądz profesor Jan Perszon, który w dwutysięcznym roku z okazji jubileuszu dwóch tysięcy lat od narodzenia Chrystusa wyruszył z pielgrzymką nie ze Swarzewa, ale aż z Helu. Potem z okazji kolejnych rocznic, Kaszubi wędrowali aż na Giewont, a w 2011. roku pielgrzymowali do sanktuarium Słowaków w Lewoczy. Tegoroczna pielgrzymka rozpoczęła się dzisiaj o godzinie 6-tej rano w Helu. Podczas pielgrzymki pątnicy odwiedzą m.in. dwa ważnie miejsca kultu maryjnego na Kaszubach – Sanktuarium Matki Boskiej Swarzewskiej Królowej Polskiego Morza oraz Sanktuarium Królowej Kaszub w Sianowie.
