Pomorskie znajduje się w niechlubnej czołówce w Polsce pod względem zachorowalności na nowotwory. Co roku zapada na nie w naszym województwie 13350 osób, a umiera ponad 8 tysięcy. Usprawnić diagnostykę i przyspieszyć leczenie chorób nowotworowych ma wprowadzony 1 stycznia tego roku pakiet onkologiczny. W jego ramach w kilku szpitalach na Pomorzu pojawili się tak zwani koordynatorzy do spraw szybkiej terapii onkologicznej. – Tak jest między innymi w Kościerzynie, gdzie przez ostatni miesiąc do koordynatora zgłosiło się już 80 osób – mówi onkolog z kościerskiego szpitala dr Piotr Duszyński. O szczegółach dotyczących pakietu onkologicznego będzie się można dzisiaj dowiedzieć w Punktach Informacyjnych pomorskiego NFZ w Gdańsku, Gdyni, Słupsku, Chojnicach i Malborku.
