Dzisiaj obchodzimy Europejski Dzień Języków. To święto, w którym Rada Europy chce zachęcić 800 milionów Europejczyków z 47 krajów do nauki języków obcych.
– Dzieci szybko się uczą, jeśli nie są do tego zmuszane – mówi dyrektor Naji Szkòłë, Karol Rhode.
Wydarzenia organizowane 26 września mają też uświadamiać istotne znaczenie wielojęzyczności w jednoczącej się Europie. Na naszym kontynencie funkcjonuje 225 rodzimych języków. Jak się ich nauczyć? Podpowiada Michał Hamond z Gdyni, który opatentował swoją autorską metodą nauki języków obcych. W ostatnich latach coraz więcej placówek szkolnych opiera swoje działania na profilu językowym. Tak jest w przypadku nowej placówki „Naja szkòła” w Wejherowie, gdzie dzieci bawią się i uczą w języku angielskim, polskim i kaszubskim. Większość Kaszubów jest dwujęzyczna, tak jak co najmniej połowa światowej populacji ludzi. Wielojęzyczność niesie liczne korzyści: ułatwia uczenie się kolejnych języków, wpływa pozytywnie na proces myślenia i sprzyja kontaktom z innymi ludźmi oraz kulturami.
