Dziś obchodzony jest Światowy Dzień Walki z AIDS
Dziś Światowy Dzień Walki z AIDS – ustanowiony by przypominać o problemach wynikających z epidemii tej choroby. AIDS to inaczej zespół nabytego upośledzenia odporności wywoływany przez wirus HIV.
Według szacunków w całej Polsce żyje 35 tysięcy osób zarażonych tym wirusem. Stąd akcje przypominające o środkach zapobiegawczych – jak prezerwatywy, a także zachęcające do testowania się – zwłaszcza przez osoby z grupy wysokiego ryzyka. Sporą wiedzę na ten temat ma młodzież w Kartuzach. Uczniowie z Zespołu Szkół Zawodowych i Ogólnokształcących zwyciężyli w filmowym konkursie „Pomorskiego Festiwalu Krótkich Filmów o HIV”. Rozmawiał z nimi Piotr Szyca. Na bezpłatne badania w kierunku HIV zapraszają w Gdyni – jeszcze dziś i jutro od 15:00 do 18:00, w sobotę natomiast od 11:00 do 15:00. Punkt mieści się w siedzibie SANEPiD przy ulicy Starowiejskiej 50.
