Były metropolita gdański zmarł we wtorek w wieku 84 lat po ciężkiej chorobie. Był honorowym obywatelem Gdyni, Redy, Sopotu, Wejherowa a od kwietnia tego roku także Gdańska.
Wielki przyjaciel Kaszubów, w 1993 roku wydał dekret umożliwiający używanie języka kaszubskiego w czytaniach liturgicznych, modlitwie wiernych i śpiewie kościelnym. W rozmowie z naszym reporterem tak kiedyś określił pobożność Kaszubów.
Msza pogrzebowa pod przewodnictwem Księdza Arcybiskupa Sławoja Leszka Głódzia Metropolity Gdańskiego w bazylice oliwskiej rozpocznie się o godzinie 11:00. Po mszy ciało arcybiskupa Tadeusza Gocłowskiego zostanie przeniesione do Krypty Biskupów Gdańskich. W związku z uroczystościami w okolicach Archikatedry Oliwskiej obowiązywać będzie zmieniona organizacja ruchu, a komunikacja miejska będzie funkcjonować jak w Dniu Wszystkich Świętych.
