Dziś obchodzimy 21. rocznicę śmierci Jana Drzeżdżona – według wielu najwybitniejszego kaszubskiego pisarza. Zmarły w 1992 roku krytyk literacki, badacz, wydawca i wreszcie autor takich powieści jak Twarz Smętka czy trylogii Karamoro był belokiem, czyli Kaszubą z Nordy, a całe swoje życie związał z Ziemią Pucką. Znany był jednak w całym kraju. Polski krytyk literacki Henryk Bereza tak mówił o Drzeżdzonie – jako autor tylko do roku 1977 włącznie opublikowanych utworów jest pisarzem wybitniejszym niż Llosa, Cortázar razem wzięci z Borgesem na przyczepkę. Profesorowie Jerzy Samp i Adela Kulin-Kalinowska również podziwiają kaszubskiego pisarza. Przedwczesna śmierć Drzeżdżona była dla Kaszubów szokiem, ale pisarz pozostawił bogatą spuściznę, z której wciąż korzystają młodzi. Dość wspomnieć, że jego imię nosi najważniejszy na Kaszubach literacki konkurs, a na temat jego twórczości wciąż pisze się prace magisterskie i rozprawy. Gdyby żył, Jan Drzeżdżon miałby dziś 76 lat.
