Gm. Wejherowo. Dwujęzyczne tablice na drogach
W gminie Wejherowo trwa montaż dwujęzycznych tablic z nazwami miejscowości. To trzecia w powiecie gmina po Linii i Szemudzie, która zdecydowała się na taki krok. Przedsięwzięcie kosztować będzie niespełna 40 tysięcy złotych i w całości pokryte będzie z budżetu państwa. – W sprawie ustalenia dodatkowej nazwy miejscowości w języku kaszubskim odbyły się konsultacje z mieszkańcami – mówi wójt Henryk Skwarło, choć jak przyznaje w gminie mieszka coraz więcej nie-Kaszubów. Tylko mieszkańcy jednej miejscowości zdecydowali, że nie będą chcieli dodatkowej nazwy po kaszubsku – Gowina, bo po kaszubsku źle się kojarzy. Kolejną gminą na terenie powiatu wejherowskiego, która zamontuje dwujęzyczne nazwy będzie Luzino. Dwujęzyczne tablice pojawiają się na Kaszubach od 2005 roku, najwięcej jest ich w powiatach: kartuskim, bytowskim i wejherowskim.
