D-Day przedłużył letni sezon w Helu
Sezon w Helu trwa w najlepsze – dzięki przesunięciu na końcówkę sierpnia D Day Hel. To jedenasta już edycja rekonstrukcji nawiązującej do największej w historii operacji desantowej z czasów drugiej wojny światowej.
Na razie na ulicach miasta nie słychać wystrzałów – uwagę letników przyciągają żołnierze w ówczesnych mundurach i uzbrojeniem. Po ulicach Helu możną się też przejechać np. amerykańskim jeepem z lat 40. – Wszystko zgodne z duchem epoki, bo impreza ma też charakter edukacyjny – podkreśla rekonstruktor Kamil Mieroszyk z 82 Amerykańskiej Dywizji Powietrznodesantowej. Termin imprezy po raz pierwszy przesunięto na koniec sierpnia. To ,jak ocenia burmistrz Helu, Klemens Kohnke – zaowocowało przedłużeniem sezonu turystycznego w mieście. W sumie zaplanowano pięć inscenizacji – najbardziej widowiskowe “Lądowanie na Plaży Omaha” dobędzie się w sobotę na cyplu Helskim. W 11 edycji D-Day Hel udział bierze niemal pół tysiąca rekonstruktorów całej Polski.
