Część radnych domaga się wyjścia miasta ze Związku Gmin Wierzyca
Część radnych z Kościerzyny domaga się wyjścia miasta ze Związku Gmin Wierzyca, który zarządza gospodarowaniem odpadami. To wynik niedawnych podwyżek za wywóz śmieci i złej sytuacji finansowej Związku.
– Ewentualne wyjście ze Związku nie wiązałoby się jednak na razie z obniżeniem kosztów – mówi burmistrz Kościerzyny Michał Majewski.
Działający od 2012 roku Związek Gmin Wierzyca miał przyczynić się do ograniczenia kosztów związanych z tak zwaną rewolucją śmieciową. Weszło do niego 6 gmin z powiatu kościerskiego, a także większość samorządów z powiatu starogardzkiego. Po czasie okazało się, że przeszacowano liczbę mieszkańców, która złożyła deklaracje a jednocześnie prawie dwukrotnie wzrosła liczba odbieranych śmieci. Dziurę w finansach po części załatano podwyżkami opłat za wywóz śmieci. To nie podoba się części radnych, a na ostatniej sesji Tomasz Dargacz złożył wniosek o rozpoczęcie procedury wyjścia ze Związku.
Od października stawki za wywóz śmieci od gospodarstwa jednoosobowego w Kościerzynie wynoszą 24 zł, a od dwóch i więcej osób – 54 zł. Jak mówi burmistrz Majewski jedyną możliwością obniżenia kosztów w tym momencie jest lepsze segregowanie śmieci. W Zakładzie Utylizacji w Starym Lesie za tonę zmieszanych odpadów Związek płaci 290 złotych, a za tonę segregowanych 29 razy mniej.
