O lokalizację punktu w Wejherowie zabiegało tamtejsze starostwo powiatowe we współpracy z władzami powiatów: puckiego i kartuskiego. Usługi Lokalnych Punktów Informacji Funduszy Europejskich są elementem programu koordynowanego przez Ministerstwo Infrastruktury i Rozwoju. – Mają ułatwić pozyskanie informacji o unijnych programach i możliwościach pozyskania dofinansowania, których dotąd trzeba było szukać w różnych instytucjach – podkreśla starosta powiatu puckiego Jarosław Białk. Do Lokalnych Punktów Informacji Funduszy Europejskich można przyjść, albo zadzwonić lub wysłać maila. Mają być też organizowane szkolenia, spotkania – także poza siedzibami punktów – a ich pracownicy mają też dojeżdżać – np. do klientów niepełnosprawnych.
