Po piątkowym pożarze pucki HOM prosi o pomoc – ośrodek stracił swoje główne źródło utrzymania, a straty oszacowano na 230 tysięcy złotych. Ogniem zajął jeden z magazynów w piątek po południu. Nikomu nic się nie stało, ale spłonęło około 50 sztuk żagli, środki ratunkowe, wiosła oraz sprzęt Harcerskiego Ośrodka Morskiego. Ożaglowanie było przypisane tak zwanym Drużynówkom – łódkom, które od 40 lat służyły do prowadzenia edukacji morskiej, żeglarskiej, oraz były wynajmowane przez ośrodek w sezonie letnim, przynosząc duże zyski. HOM został praktycznie pozbawiony możliwości zarabiania na dzień przed sezonem. O pomoc rzeczową i finansową apeluje komendant ośrodka, Sławomir Dębicki. Środki można wpłacać na specjalne konto, którego numer otrzymamy po kontakcie z pucką placówką. HOM nie zawiesza swojej działalności – na wyposażeniu wciąż ma łodzie klasy Puck i może szkolić na nich chętnych – ale na pewno będzie mu trudno podnieść się z finansowego dołka.
