Dowodzenie Marynarki Wojennej wróciło do Gdyni
Inspektorat Marynarki Wojennej przeniósł się z Warszawy do Gdyni. W praktyce oznacza to, że dowodzenie Marynarką Wojenną wróciło nad morze.
Dowództwo Marynarki Wojennej stacjonowało w Gdyni od czasów powojennych do końca 2013 roku. Na mocy decyzji podjętych przez poprzedni parlament zostało rozformowane. W efekcie reformy systemu dowodzenia i kierowania wojskiem powstał Inspektorat Marynarki Wojennej podlegający Dowództwu Generalnemu Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych, który miał siedzibę w Warszawie. Premier Mateusz Morawiecki zapowiadał, że w Gdyni od 2019 roku zostanie odtworzone dowództwo Marynarki Wojennej. Od kilkunastu dni inspektorat Marynarki Wojennej działa w budynku przy ul. Waszyngtona. Informację tę potwierdził inspektor morskich sił zbrojnych, kontradmirał Jarosław Ziemiański, podczas poniedziałkowej uroczystości wodowania holownika „Bolko” dla marynarki wojennej w gdańskiej stoczni Remontowa.
