Pomnik Aleksandra Majkowskiego stoi w centrum Kościerzyny
W Kościerzynie wczoraj oficjalnie odsłonięto pomnik Aleksandra Majkowskiego. Patriotyczna uroczystość odbyła się w obecności władz miasta, radnych województwa i przedstawicieli Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko-Pomorskiego.
– To historyczny dzień dla Kościerzyny – mówił podczas odsłonięcia pomnika Jan Dittrich, dyrektor Kościerskiego Domu Kultury.
Postać pisarza z brązu stanęła w centrum miasta między ulicą Długą a Tkaczyka. Autor „Życia i przygód Remusa” przedstawiony jest z laską pod pachą, w jednej ręce trzyma pióro a w drugiej swoją powieść. Wokół pomnika umiejscowiono fragmenty opowieści o Remusie. Podkreślał prezes Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko-Pomorskiego, prof. Edmund Wittbrodt. W uroczystości wzięli też udział uczniowie wielu szkół, dla których była to żywa lekcja historii. Mówili uczniowie Zespołu Kształcenia w Łubianie. Po odsłonięciu pomnika, na rynku w Kościerzynie odbył się festyn „Kaszubskie Bajania”.
