Dworzec kolejowy w Kościerzynie znów będzie wizytówką miasta. Trwają ostatnie prace modernizacyjne tego obiektu. Odnowiono wszystkie pomieszczenia oraz elewację budynku.
W zmodernizowanym obiekcie dostępna będzie dla pasażerów kasa, poczekalnia i toalety. W pozostałych pomieszczeniach władze planują uruchomienie czytelni oraz restauracji.
– Jest szansa, że dworzec udostępniony będzie już na początku października – mówi burmistrz Kościerzyny, Michał Majewski.
Rewitalizacja dworca jest częścią wartego 36 mln złotych projektu budowy węzła integracyjnego w Kościerzynie i wyniesie 8 mln 700 tysięcy złotych. Po zakończeniu remontu, władze planują budowę tunelu do Muzeum Kolejnictwa, parkingu na ponad 200 samochodów oraz blisko 20 km ścieżek rowerowych.
