Stwórz ogród deszczowy: zachęcają w Gdyni
Gdynia zachęca do tworzenia ogrodów deszczowych na terenie miasta. Udziela na ten cel dotacji do 10 tys zł. Ogrody deszczowe mogą być zakładane w gruncie lub w pojemnikach. Są alternatywnym w stosunku do sieci kanalizacyjnej sposobem zagospodarowania wód deszczowych oraz naturalnym sposobem usuwania z nich zanieczyszczeń.
Rośliny hydrofitowe przechwytują i zatrzymują szkodliwe substancje w kłączach lub korzeniach oczyszczając wodę. Wspomaga ten proces odpowiednio dobrane podłoże w postaci warstw piasku i żwiru, które ułatwia też przesiąkanie wody w głąb gruntu. Dodatkowo ogrody deszczowe są idealnym siedliskiem dla wielu gatunków zwierząt, mają też walor dekoracyjny i edukacyjny. W Gdyni przykładowe instalacje powstały już przy Gdynia InfoBox oraz na poddanym rewitalizacji osiedlu Meksyk. Kolejne zaplanowano przy ulicy Dickmana i Nowodworcowej. Miasto chce dotacjami zachęć także mieszkańców do tworzenia ogrodów deszczowych na swoim terenie. Mogą się o nie ubiegać osoby fizyczne i prawne – w tym spółdzielnie mieszkaniowe, wspólnoty oraz przedsiębiorcy. Wsparcie przysługuje w wysokości 60 procent poniesionych kosztów kwalifikowanych, jednak nie może przekroczyć 10 tys zł.
