Werner Rzeźnikowski będzie Honorowym Obywatelem Kościerzyny
Werner Rzeźnikowski będzie kolejnym Honorowym Obywatelem Kościerzyny. Decyzję w tej sprawie jednogłośnie podjęła na ostatniej sesji Rada Miasta.
Werner Rzeźnikowski jest bohaterem wielu książek i filmów dotyczących II wojny światowej. Od urodzenia mieszka w Kościerzynie, a w tym roku kończy 98 lat. Był więźniem obozu koncentracyjnego KL Stutthof i uczestnikiem Marszu Śmierci. Aktywnie działał w harcerstwie i Szarych Szeregach. O nadanie honorowego obywatelstwa Kościerzyny wnioskowały organizacje harcerskie i przewodnicząca Rady Miasta Teresa Preis. Uroczystość wręczenie Honorowego Obywatelstwa dla Wernera Rzeźnikowskiego odbędzie się na początku lipca. Dotychczas w tym gronie znalazły się 22 osoby, w tym były prezydent Lech Wałęsa, oraz arcybiskup Henryk Muszyński.
