W Wejherowie powstanie rondo na ulicy Chopina – jedynej drodze do tamtejszego szpitala. Podpisano już umowę na wykonanie prac. Przebudowane zostanie skrzyżowanie ulic: Chopina, Nadrzecznej i Staromłyńskiej, a Nadrzeczna zostanie też wyremontowana.
– Rondo ma upłynnić ruch i podnieść bezpieczeństwo w tym newralgicznym punkcie – mówi zastępca prezydenta Wejherowa Beata Rutkiewicz.
Całkowity koszt to 6 mln 700 tys zł. Pokryją go środki z budżetu miasta z dwumilionowym wsparciem z wejherowskiego starostwa powiatowego. Będzie to kolejny element Zachodniego Połączenia Drogowego Wejherowa. Wybudowano już Węzeł Działki, dwa ronda na Ofiar Piaśnicy oraz ulicę Lelewela. Jest też już projekt połączenia Sucharskiego ze Strzelecką. Prace na drodze do szpitala mają się rozpocząć pod koniec maja, największe utrudnienia będą latem. Budowa ronda na drodze do szpitala wraz z modernizacją Nadrzecznej mają być zakończone do końca tego roku.
