Bazuny powstają na warsztatach w Wejherowskim Centrum Kultury
W Wejherowie budują bazuny – mają być wykorzystane w Noc Kupały w miejskim parku. Kaszubskie instrumenty powstają na warsztatach w Wejherowskim Centrum Kultury.
Bazuna jest rodzajem rogu o wąskiej menzurze. Długość kaszubskich bazun zwykle nie przekraczała 2,5 metra, choć współcześnie spotyka się także dłuższe. Bazuny wykorzystywano dawniej m.in. podczas witania Nowego Roku, czynienia obrzędowej wrzawy, a także jako instrument sygnalizacyjny i ostrzegawczy – do wydawania sygnałów z łodzi lub brzegu, gdy na morzu była mgła. Warsztaty w Wejherowie odbywają się i są współfinansowane w ramach programu Instytutu Muzyki i Tańca „Szkoła mistrzów budowy instrumentów ludowych”.
Do udziału zaproszono osoby, którym nie obca jest obróbka drewna jak rzeźbiarze i stolarze, by kontynuowali kaszubską tradycję i wyszli naprzeciw zapotrzebowania kapel na instrumenty ludowe. Bazuny wykonane przez uczestników zajęć w WCK zostaną wykorzystane 22 czerwca – podczas Nocy Kupały w Parku im. Aleksandra Majkowskiego .
