Legendarny jacht „Copernicus” popłynie w wyścigu Volvo Ocean Race
Będzie reprezentował Yacht Klub Stal Gdynia w regatach uczestników poprzednich edycji tego najstarszego i prestiżowego załogowego wyścigu dookoła świata. Kapitanem jednostki podczas Wyścigu Legend będzie uczestnik regat sprzed 45 lat Bronisław Tarnacki.
„Copernicus” jest jak dotąd najstarszym jachtem, którego załoga zadeklarowała udział w Wyścigu Legend i na dodatek jedynym uczestnikiem pierwszych regat Whitbread. Jacht z Gdyni popłynie pod patronatem Polskiego- oraz Pomorskiego Związku Żeglarskiego. Organizatorami rejsu są Yacht Klub Stal Gdynia i By The Wind Media, partnerem zaś Volvo Car Poland. „Copernicus” wypłynie z Gdyni 15 czerwca, a sześć dni później wystartuje w regatach ze szwedzkiego Göteborga do Hagi w Holandii.
