Odsłonią Bursztynowy Ołtarz w Bazylice św. Brygidy w Gdańsku
W sobotę odbędzie się odsłonięcie Bursztynowego Ołtarza Ojczyzny w Bazylice św. Brygidy w Gdańsku. Poświęcenie ołtarza nastąpi w 47. rocznicę Wydarzeń Grudniowych i 36. rocznicę wprowadzeni stanu wojennego podczas uroczystej Mszy św.
Wezmą w niej udział nuncjusz apostolski w Polsce Salvatore Pennacchio oraz prezydent Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej Andrzej Duda. Ołtarz w Bazylice św. Brygidy powstał z inicjatywy Gdańskich Bursztynników i ks. Henryka Jankowskiego. Jego centralnym elementem jest Matka Boska – Opiekunka Ludzi Pracy, namalowana przez ks. Franciszka Znanieckiego po masakrze grudniowej w 1970 roku. Madonna i Dzieciątko mają bursztynowe korony i sukienkę z białego bursztynu nałożone w 2001 roku. Po obydwu stronach ołtarza dodatkowo umieszczono figury patronek Europy św. Brygidy Szwedzkiej i św. Elżbiety Hesselblad. Pod sklepieniem znajduje się zrywający się do lotu biały orzeł z bursztynu.
Msza św., na którą zaprasza metropolita gdański Sławoj Leszek Głódź rozpocznie się o godzinie 16.00. W przeddzień poświecenia, czyli w piątek odbędzie się dodatkowo koncert symfoniczny. O godzinie 19.30 w Bazylice św. Brygidy wystąpi Orkiestra Symfoniczna Polskiej Filharmonii Bałtyckiej. Wstęp na koncert bezpłatny.
