Zmarł Jerzy Walkusz z Hopowa – artysta ludowy i animator kultury kaszubskiej. Miał 87 lat. Jerzego Walkusza zapamiętamy jako życzliwego i uśmiechniętego człowieka, któremu bliska była kultura kaszubska – wspomina dyrektor Gminnego Ośrodka Kultury w Somoninie, Marian Kowalewski.
To on stworzył i kierował zespołem Hopowianie. Jego dziełem są też rekordowe 4-metrowe diabelskie skrzypce czy płaskorzeźby drogi krzyżowej w Sanktuarium w Sianowie. Pogrzeb Jerzego Walkusza odbędzie się w piątek o 14.00 w kościele parafialnym w Hopowie.
