Konferencja wojewódzka „Ciąża bez alkoholu-dziecko bez FAS”
W Polsce co dziesiąta kobieta w ciąży spożywa regularnie alkohol – alarmowali w Kościerzynie przedstawiciele Państwowej Agencji Rozwiązywania Problemów Alkoholowych. Statystyki przedstawiono podczas konferencji „Ciąża bez alkoholu-dziecko bez FAS”.
– Zapobiec może temu jedynie całkowita abstynencja matki w ciąży – podkreślała Magdalena Borkowska z Państwowej Agencji Rozwiązywania Problemów Alkoholowych.
Płodowy zespół alkoholowy – czyli FAS – to choroba, z którą rocznie na świecie rodzi się 119 tysięcy dzieci. Jest przyczyną upośledzenia psychicznego, spowolnionego rozwoju ruchowego oraz zmian w budowie ciała dziecka – mówiła Grażyna Rymaszewska z Fundacji „Trzeźwość” z Gdyni, która jest głównym inicjatorem obchodów Światowego Dnia FAS na Pomorzu. Współorganizatorem wydarzenia był Miejski Ośrodek Pomocy Społecznej w Kościerzynie.
