Koscierzyna: bezpłatne badania profilaktyczne
Kościerzyna, jako jeden z niewielu samorządów na Pomorzu, inicjuje bezpłatne badania dla mieszkańców w kierunku wykrycia niebezpiecznej choroby – wirusowego zapalenia wątroby typu C. Wirus – nazywany cichym zabójcą – wcześnie wykryty daję szansę wyleczenia choroby. Według szacunków w Polsce co 50-ta osoba jest zakażona. Niestety większość osób nie jest tego świadoma, bo przez wiele lat choroba nie daje żadnych objawów. Ostatecznie wirus doprowadza do poważnych uszkodzeń wątroby – głownie śmiertelnych nowotworów i marskości. Mimo to w Polsce nie prowadzi się szczepień w tym kierunku , a specjalistyczne badania można wykonać jedynie na zlecenie lekarza specjalisty. Aby zmienić tę sytuację – samorząd Kościerzyny – rozpoczyna trzyletnią akcję profilaktyczną. W jej ramach – oprócz specjalnych szkoleń dla lekarzy i kampanii informacyjnej – przebadani zostaną mieszkańcy, którzy należą do grupy ryzyka – mówi szefowa sanepidu w Kościerzyna Grażyna Greinke. Według szacunków wirusem w Kościerzynie może być zarażone około 450 osób, na Pomorzu – to już 43,5 tysiąca osób. Samorząd Kościerzyny na badania profilaktyczne dla mieszkańców przeznaczył 30 tysięcy złotych. Do podobnych działań zachęca też inne samorządy.
