Będzie pierwsze w Polsce Centrum Leczenia Otyłości i Chorób Metabolicznych
W Gdańsku będzie działać pierwsze w Polsce Centrum Leczenia Otyłości i Chorób Metabolicznych. Będzie się mieścić w Gdańskim Uniwersytecie Medycznym, powstało z inicjatywy rektora tej uczelni prof. Marcina Gruchały. Otwarcie 22 maja.
To pierwszy w skali kraju ośrodek bariatryczny, w której pacjent będzie otoczony opieką wielu specjalistów – od momentu kwalifikacji i przygotowania do operacji, zabiegu i opieki pooperacyjnej. Chirurgii bariatrycznej nie należy mylić z chirurgią kosmetyczną, jej istotą jest bowiem leczenie źródła otyłości, a nie tylko poprawa wyglądu. Pacjenci przywracani są do pełnej sprawności, ustępują u nich choroby wtórne, jak cukrzyca typu II, nadciśnienie tętnicze czy zespół bezdechu nocnego. Jak poinformował Gdański Uniwersytet Medyczny działalność centrum zostanie zainaugurowana podczas konferencji naukowej. Zaprezentowane zostaną m.in. możliwości chirurgicznego leczenia otyłości, będzie dyskusja o zabiegach kształtujących sylwetkę po masywnej utracie wagi. Gośćmi konferencji będą też pacjenci, którzy opowiedzą o swoich problemach zdrowotnych przed i po leczeniu bariatrycznym.
Spotkanie odbędzie się w poniedziałek. Rozpocznie się o 13:00 w Centrum Medycyny Inwazyjnej w Gdańsku.
