Rekordowa liczba spektakli amatorskich, teatralny maraton, największy amatorski przegląd teatralny w Polsce – takie określenia przychodzą na myśl w związku z kolejnym już „Wieżowiskiem” w Gniewinie, w powiecie wejherowskim.
Tegoroczny IX Otwarty Turniej Teatralno – Kabaretowy „Wieżowisko” w Gniewinie odbędzie się w dniach 18 – 20 maja. W trakcie trzydniowego festiwalu teatralnego można będzie zobaczyć 50 spektakli, w tym 13 monodramów i kilka kabaretów. Na scenie Centrum Kultury zaprezentują się aktorzy – amatorzy z różnych stron Pomorza, reprezentujący szkoły podstawowe, gimnazja, licea, instytucje kultury, stowarzyszenia, Uniwersytety Trzeciego Wieku. Przegląd jednoczy pokolenia, bowiem swoje talenty zaprezentują członkowie zespołów teatralnych w wieku od 6 lat do ponad 70.
Organizatorami „Wieżowiska” są Samorządowy Zespół Szkół i Centrum Kultury, Sportu i Biblioteka w Gniewinie. Pomysłodawcą turnieju i głównym koordynatorem jest Wioletta Majer – Szreder, która jest duszą i mózgiem przedsięwzięcia i czuwa nad przebiegiem całego turnieju, który rozrósł się tak, że w bieżącym roku liczy się dosłownie każda minuta – prezentacje zaczynają się od 8.30 i będą trwać do 21.00 w piątek 19 maja i sobotę 20 maja, a w czwartek 18 maja – od 15.00 do 21.00.
Atmosfera święta teatru sprawia, że corocznie przybywa uczestników – w pierwszym „Wieżowisku” w 2009 roku brało udział 8 grup teatralnych, w ostatnich latach spektakli było ponad trzydzieści, a obecnie pięćdziesiąt. Jurorami są profesjonaliści – aktorzy i reżyserzy z Trójmiasta, m.in. z Teatru Wybrzeże.
