W Gdyni powstanie nowe przedszkole na 150 miejsc. Mieścić się będzie na Chwarznie – Wiczlinie.
To najszybciej rozwijająca się dzielnica Gdyni, w ciągu 10 lat podwoiła się tu liczba mieszkańców. Gdynia Zachód jest w dodatku popularna wśród młodych rodzin, co zwiększa zapotrzebowanie na kolejne placówki oświatowe. Nowe, samorządowe przedszkole będzie się mieścić przy ulicy Wiesławy Kwiatkowskiej, ma być gotowe na przełomie grudnia i stycznia. Na 10-u oddziałach będzie 150 miejsc, co ma zaspokoić większość potrzeb na Chwarznie – Wiczlinie. Jak informuje zespół prasowy Urzędu Miasta o 31 dostępnych tam miejsc aplikowały 193 osoby.
W gdyńskich przedszkolach jest obecnie ponad 5 i pół tys. miejsc, o 352 za mało by pokryć zapotrzebowanie z ostatniej rekrutacji. Stąd w planach rozwój sieci. Poza placówką na Chwarznie – Wiczlinie miejski samorząd planuje utworzenie dwóch nowych przedszkoli: na 150 miejsc w Zespole Szkół Ekologicznych przy Morskiej oraz na 104 miejsca w budynku Zespołu Szkolno – Przedszkolnego przy Nagietkowej. Dodatkowe oddziały utworzone zostaną w przedszkolach nr 50 i 54, a w Śródmieściu, na Obłużu i Karwinach opieką przedszkolną ma być objętych dodatkowe 250 dzieci.
