Gdynianin zwycięzcą maratonu na Biegunie Północnym
4 godziny i 6 minut to wystarczający czas, aby wygrać maraton na Biegunie Północnym. Dokonał tego Piotr Suchenia – gdynianin, który swoją pasję do sportu łączy z pracą w Gdyńskim Centrum Sportu. Przebiegł 42 kilometry 192 metry przy temperaturze odczuwalnej poniżej minus 50 stopni Celsjusza.
Cykl zawodów na Biegunie Północnym rozpoczęto w 2002 roku, ideą maratonu jest sprawdzenie własnych umiejętności w ekstremalnie trudnych warunkach. Zawodnicy biegną po zamarzniętym oceanie arktycznym. Kolejnym celem gdyńskiego maratończyka Piotra Sucheni będzie Ice Marathon na Antarktydzie.
