Handel ludźmi w Gdańsku – aresztowani obywatele Rosji
Handel ludźmi w Gdańsku. Kilkunastu obywateli Bangladeszu było zmuszanych do ciężkiej pracy w stoczni. Obiecano im pracę przy filetowaniu ryb i godne wynagrodzenie, z Bangladeszu przyjechali do Gdańska za chlebem. Przymusowo remontowali statki w Gdańskiej Stoczni, nie wypłacono im ani złotówki. Prokuratura Apelacyjna w Gdańsku postawiła w tej sprawie zarzuty dwóm osobom, mieli „stosować praktyki podobne do niewolnictwa”. Oskarżeni to rosjanin bangladeskiego pochodzenia i Rosjanka mieszkająca od dwudziestu lat w Polsce – prowadzili spółkę organizującą pośrednictwo pracy. Proces dwójki oskarżonych Rosjan ciągnie się przed gdańskim Sądem Okręgowym od trzech lat.
Przed miesiącem w Gdańsku odbył się marsz Nie-milczenia, którego członkowie wyrażali solidarność z ofiarami współczesnego niewolnictwa. Najczęściej przybiera ono formę obozów pracy – znane sa przypadki kiedy to Kaszubi wyjeżdżali za pracą na przykład do Włoch czy Wielkiej Brytanii, spotykając podobne warunki jak poszkodowani obywatele Bangladeszu. Uczestnicy marszu chcieli zaapelować do mieszkańców Pomorza o wrażliwość na ten problem. W zeszłym roku ofiarami niewolnictwa padło 15 tysięcy osób związanych z Polską jako krajem pochodzenia, przeznaczenia lub tranzytu. Na co dzień pomoc i infolinię dla ofiar niewolnictwa prowadzi fundacja La Strada.
