Fontanna na Placu Kaszubskim w Gdyni jest już gotowa
Nowa atrakcja na Placu Kaszubskim w Gdyni jest już gotowa. Zamontowano tam fontannę w prezencie dla mieszkańców z okazji 90-lecia miasta.
Między ulicami Wójta Radtkego i Jana z Kolna zamontowano 30 dysz, które mają tryskać wodą z poziomu chodnika, słupy wody będą też podświetlane różnymi kolorami. Wszystkimi walorami fontanny będzie można się nacieszyć wiosną przyszłego roku. Przy okazji warto przypomnieć historię placu Kaszubskiego, który w chwili powstania był Rynkiem Kaszubskim. To tu, u zbiegu ulic Świętojańskiej i Derdowskiego, mieścił się pierwszy gdyński magistrat. Nie każdy gdynianin wie, że stała tu także pierwsza hala targowa w Gdyni. Przed laty znajdowała się tu także pętla trolejbusowa, czy willa Stella Maris, w której mieszkał generał Józef Haller.
Najbardziej charakterystycznymi obecnie symbolami placu są postawiony w 2001 roku pomnik Antoniego Abrahama i pomnik – ławeczka kaszubskiego małżeństwa Jakuba i Elżbiety Scheibów.
