W Gdyni pomagają osobom bezdomnym
W Gdyni pomagają osobom bezdomnym w powrocie do samodzielnego życia. Sukcesy na tym polu zaowocowały nagrodą dla Centrum Reintegracji i Interwencji Mieszkaniowej MOPS.
W ramach konkursu „Teraz PROJEKT SOCJALNY” wręczono ją w poniedziałek w Kancelarii Prezesa Rady Ministrów w Warszawie za realizację projektu „Utrecht”. – W jego ramach w ciągu ostatniego roku gdyńskie schroniska opuściło ponad 60 osób bezdomnych – przy wsparciu MOPS wynajmują mieszkania lub pokoje na wolnym rynku – mówił dziś w audycji Dzień Dobry Kaszuby rzecznik Miejskiego Ośrodka Pomocy Społecznej w Gdyni Cezary Horewicz.
Projekt zakłada też m.in. aktywizację zawodową. Zainspirował go przykład holenderskiego miasta Utrecht – gdzie udowodniono pracując z osobami wykluczonymi, że mogą one odpowiedzialnie decydować o swoim życiu. W Gdyni jest około pół tysiąca osób bezdomnych, z czego tylko niecałe 20 procent odmawia przyjęcia pomocy w zmianie swojej sytuacji życiowej. Gdyńskie Centrum Reintegracji i Interwencji Mieszkaniowej MOPS koordynuje pomoc potrzebującym w mieście. Osobom bezdomnym oferuje schronienie, posiłek, poradę prawnika i zasiłek celowy oraz udział w programach usamodzielniających.
