Komunalny Związek Gmin „Dolina Redy i Chylonki” działa już od 25 lat
– To nasze „srebrne gody” – mówi o jubileuszu Komunalnego Związku Gmin „Dolina Redy i Chylonki” jego prezes Tadeusz Wiśniewski. Już ćwierć wieku związek wykonuje zadania publiczne w zastępstwie gmin i koordynuje ich działania.
– Szczególnie młodzież uczulamy na to, jak nasze zachowania wpływają na przyrodę – mówił dziś w audycji Dzień Dobry Kaszuby prezes KZG „Dolina Redy i Chylonki” Tadeusz Wiśniewski.
Teraz zrzesza Sopot, Gdynię, Redę, Rumię, Wejherowo oraz gminy: Wejherowo, Szemud i Kosakowo. Na tym terenie mieszka w sumie 460 tysięcy osób. Związek odpowiada za ich zaopatrzenie w wodę, odbiór i oczyszczanie ścieków, centralne ogrzewanie, gospodarkę odpadami. Od osiemnastu lat prowadzi także kompleksową edukację ekologiczną. Związek jest dziś wspólnie z gminami właścicielem trzech firm: spółki OPEC w Gdyni zajmującej się ciepłownictwem, gdyńskiego PEWIK w zakresie gospodarki wodno – ściekowej oraz „Eko Doliny” w Łężycach – zakładu utylizacji i unieszkodliwiania odpadów. 25 lat działania członkowie KGZ podsumują jutro na uroczystym jubileuszu.
