Przed oszustami podającymi się za pracowników wodociągów przestrzegają policjanci z Gdyni. Poszukują mężczyzny i kobiety, którzy odwiedzają starsze osoby i wykorzystując ich zaufanie do znanej instytucji kradną z mieszkania gotówkę i wartościowe przedmioty. Sprawcy odwracają uwagę poszkodowanych prosząc, by w łazience lub kuchni na kilka minut odkręcić wodę – rzekomo w celu kontroli poprawnej pracy liczników. W tym czasie plądrują mieszkanie. Oszuści okradli w ten sposób dwie kobiety w Gdyni – w wieku 79 i 86 lat. Policja apeluje o zachowanie „zasad ograniczonego zaufania” w kontaktach z osobami podającymi sie za pracowników znanych z instytucji. Poszukiwani oszuści podający się za pracowników wodociągów to mężczyzna około 50u lat, krępej budowy ciała ubrany w ciemną kurtkę i granatową czapkę z daszkiem. Towarzyszyła mu kobieta w wieku około 45u lat, szczupła, jasnowłosa, wzrost 165 cm, ubrana w jasny płaszcz. Osoby, które widziały tych oszustów, proszone są o pilny kontakt z policją pod nr 997.
