Mieszkańcy Kiełpina uczcili 775-lecie istnienia miejscowości
Była uroczysta msza święta, odsłonięcie pamiątkowej tablicy, występy artystyczne oraz biegi. Tak w Kiełpinie koło Kartuz świętowano 775-lecie istnienia miejscowości.
Pierwsze wzmianki o wsi pochodzą z 1241 roku. Wtedy to książę Sambor II nadał wieś biskupowi włocławskiemu. Historię tę poznał Piotr Szyca.
