Pomożemy w krzewieniu pamięci o piaśnickiej zbrodni
Instytut Pamięci Narodowej będzie wspierał krzewienie świadomości o zbrodni w lasach piaśnickich – szef tej instytucji złożył deklarację szerokiej współpracy podczas wizytacji w wejherowskim Muzeum Piaśnicy.
Placówkę powołano w połowie grudnia ubiegłego roku, by dokumentowała wymordowanie przez hitlerowców na przełomie 1939 i 40 roku kilkunastu tysięcy ludzi – głównie pomorskiej inteligencji, duchowieństwa i działaczy społecznych. Szef IPN Jarosław Szarek zadeklarował pomoc merytoryczną, formalno – prawną oraz wsparcie śledczych, bo jak ocenił podczas wtorkowej wizyty w Wejherowie – zbrodnia w Piaśnicy wciąż nie funkcjonuje w powszechnej świadomości. Do tej pory dzięki wsparciu gdańskiego oddziału IPN Muzeum Piaśnicy zdołało pozyskać ponad 180 eksponatów – przede wszystkim pamiątek po ofiarach. Uruchomiono także stronę internetową. Dyrektor placówki Teresa Patsidis liczy teraz na wsparcie Instytutu przy sprowadzeniu unikalnych filmów, które udało się odnaleźć w niemieckich archiwach. Muzeum mieści się w tymczasowych biurach przy ulicy Św. Jacka w Wejherowie. Na początku 2019 roku zgromadzone zbiory mają zostać przeniesione do nowej siedziby placówki, Villi Musica przy ulicy Ofiar Piaśnicy.
