Hołd bohaterom Sierpnia ’80 złożono wczoraj w Gdyni – dziś obchody 36 rocznicy Porozumień Sierpniowych w Gdańsku z udziałem prezydenta RP.
To rocznica wydarzeń, które były początkiem końca komunizmu. Strajkujący wywalczyli m.in. rejestrację NSZZ Solidarność, uwolnienie więźniów politycznych i przeprowadzenie reform gospodarczych. W Gdyni uroczystości rocznicowe odbyły się już wczoraj, 57 uczestników strajków uhonorowano odznaczeniem “Bohater Sierpnia `80 Gdynia”. Zaprezentowano też piąty tom wydawnictwa “Ludzie Sierpnia `80 Gdynia. – To ludzie którzy wtedy ryzykowali nawet własnym życiem, a dzisiaj często są zapomniani – mówi prezydent Gdyni, Wojciech Szczurek. Uroczystości główne odbędą się dzisiaj w Gdańsku – rozpoczną się o godzinie 14:00 w historycznej Sali BHP Stoczni Gdańskiej od spotkania prezydenta Andrzeja Dudy z młodzieżą, związkowcami i uczestnikami sierpniowych strajków.
