W Gdyni nowa sala gimnastyczna przy szóstym LO gotowa. 1 września odbędzie się tam uroczysta, miejska inauguracja roku szkolnego.
Budowlańcy wykonali dwie kondygnacje, przyziemie i parter z parterowym łącznikiem o długości ponad 5 m. Przebudowano też istniejący budynek szkoły by dostosować go do obowiązujących przepisów przeciwpożarowych, zagospodarowano teren i przebudowano sieć ciepłowniczą. Inwestycja kosztowała w sumie ponad 7 mln złotych. Uczniowie od września będą już mogli trenować w nowej sali. W szóstym Liceum Ogólnokształcącym w Gdyni uczy się 540 osób w 17. klasach.
W planach jest jeszcze budowa boisk sportowych na terenie „szóstki”. Dokumentacja projektowa ma być gotowa do końca wakacji. Ma powstać m.in. boisko wielofunkcyjne, trybuny, oświetlenie i monitoring terenów sportowych.
