Ponad 850 zawodników na zawodach Garmin Iron Triathlon
Zawodnicy z Elbląga, Poznania i Gdańska zdominowali podium Garmin Iron Triathlon w Stężycy, czyli prestiżowych zawodów dla fanów tego wymagającego sportu. Łącznie biegało, pływało i jeździło na rowerze po terenach Szwajcarii Kaszubskiej ponad 850 sportowców z całego kraju.
W ramach dystansu 1/4 Ironman do pokonania mieli prawie 1 km wpław w wodach Jeziora Raduńskiego Górnego, 45 km na rowerze wokół tego akwenu oraz 10 i pół km biegiem po alejkach Nadraduńskiego Centrum Rekreacyjno-Turystycznego. Najlepsi na pokonanie tego dystansu potrzebowali jedynie dwóch godzin. Byli to zawodowi sportowcy z klubów w Poznaniu, Gdańsku czy Elblągu. W zawodach wzięło też udział wielu amatorów z Kaszub. Wśród nich Waldemar Wenta z Sierakowic, któremu kibicowała rodzina. Mówił wójt Stężycy Tomasz Brzoskowski. Zawody Garmin Iron Triathlon odbyły się w Stężycy już po raz drugi.
