Deklaracja w sprawie „Rozwoju polityki Unii Europejskiej na rzecz rewitalizacji miast portowych”
W Gdyni przyjęto deklarację w sprawie „Rozwoju polityki Unii Europejskiej na rzecz rewitalizacji miast portowych” – na posiedzeniu Grupy Przymierza Europejskiego w Europejskim Komitecie Regionów.
Delegaci przyjechali do Gdyni na zaproszenie Stanisława Szwabskiego, Radnego Miasta Gdynia i przewodniczącego Grupy Przymierza Europejskiego, do której należą członkowie Komitetu Regionów z Polski, Estonii, Słowacji, Litwy, UK, Belgii, Irlandii, Rumunii. Komitet Regionów zaś jest organem konsultacyjnym Unii mającym angażować władze lokalne w proces tworzenia wspólnotowego prawa. W przyjętej wczoraj Gdyńskiej Deklaracji podkreślono potrzebę ukierunkowania unijnej polityki stosownie do rodzajów portów i ich położenia geograficznego, działalności gospodarczej, systemu regulacyjnego i różnych kierunków polityki portów krajowych.
Wezwali również Unię Europejską i państwa członkowskie do tego, by we współpracy z samorządami lokalnymi położyły nacisk na finansowanie inwestycji w miastach lub miejscowościach portowych.
