Wystawa poświęcona Juliuszowi Osterwie i działalności Teatru Reduta głównie w kontekście realizacji premiery „Książę Niezłomny” oraz Jerzemu Grotowskiemu jak kontynuatorowi myśli twórczej Juliusza Osterwy. Prezentację wystawy uświetni występ Anny Marii Adamiak, która zaśpiewa utwory z repertuaru artystów 20-lecia międzywojennego.

Ideę spektaklu „Książę Niezłomny” i konsekwencje jego realizacji według koncepcji Jerzego Grotowskiego zaprezentuje Sylwia Fiałkiewicz absolwentka teatrologii Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Od 2010 roku związana zawodowo z Instytutem im. Jerzego Grotowskiego.

Pokaz inscenizacji przygotowanych przez zaproszone grupy teatralne, które podjęły się pracy nad utworem „Książę Niezłomny”.

13 sierpnia 1926 roku w Wejherowie na Rynku Starego Miasta wystąpił pierwszy polski teatr – laboratorium, który w pracy scenicznej inspirował się metodą Konstantego Stanisławskiego. O fenomenie metody świadczy fakt, iż stosowana jest po dzień dzisiejszy zwłaszcza przez aktorów wybitnych. Juliusz Osterwa, który w Moskwie otrzymał propozycję od samego mistrza, by grać w jego teatrze, postanowił wrócić do Polski i kontynuować myśl Konstantego Stanisławskiego z uwzględnieniem własnych konceptów.
W 1919 roku założył Teatr Reduta. Jego dziełem życia był bez wątpienia spektakl „Książę Niezłomny”, którego realizacja bezpośrednio łączyła się z misją, jaką wyznaczył sobie Juliusz Osterwa. Mimo, że oryginalny tekst napisał Calderon de la Barca, utwór zaistniał w polskim teatrze głównie dzięki tłumaczeniu, a zarazem parafrazie autorstwa Juliusza Słowackiego. Dramat inspirował wybitnych polskich reżyserów do nowych odczytań, do twórczych interpretacji i inscenizacji. Mimo klasycznej formy, ponadczasowe treści zawarte w utworze silnie wpływają na kolejne pokolenia. Wejherowo – dzięki Juliuszowi Osterwie – stało się pierwszym miastem na Pomorzu, do którego zawitała prawdziwa sztuka teatru – nowa, twórcza, eksperymentalna.
W tym roku mija 90 lat od tego niezwykłego momentu w życiu kulturalnym miasta. Dla jego uczczenia Filharmonia Kaszubska – Wejherowskie Centrum Kultury zaprasza na cykl wydarzeń upamiętniających pierwszy przyjazd Teatru Reduta do Wejherowa.
