Ponad 4 tony tytoniu do fajek wodnych zatrzymali w gdyńskim porcie funkcjonariusze pomorskiej Służby Celnej.
To wynik rewizji kontenera, który przypłynął do Gdyni z jednego z portów na bliskim wschodzie. Przesyłka miała zawierać czarną melasę, czyli dodatek zapachowy do tytoniu. Jej odbiorcą była firma z jednego z krajów europejskich. Mundurowi postanowili jednak dokładniej przyjrzeć się ładunkowi. W trakcie kontroli ich uwagę zwróciły napisy na opakowaniach, z których wynikało, że oprócz melasy w składzie towaru znajduje się tytoń. Deklarowany towar okazał się rzeczywiście tytoniem do fajek wodnych.
Straty skarbu państwa z tytułu niezapłaconego cła, akcyzy i podatku VAT oszacowano na milion 200 tysięcy złotych. W sprawie zostało wszczęte postępowanie karne skarbowe.
