W 1616 roku wzniesiono tam pierwszą świątynię – kościół-kaplicę. Budowlę na przestrzeni wieków kilka razy trawił pożar i kilka razy ją odbudowywano.
Obecny kościół jest budowlą z 1874 roku. Świętowanie jubileuszu 400 lecia parafii w Sulęczynie rozpocznie uroczysta msza odpustowa, zaplanowano też koncert kaszubskich pieśni religijnych – informuje Andrzej Potrac. Koncert muzyki religijnej i kaszubskiej pod nazwą „Śpiewający jubileusz” zaplanowano na godzinę 17:00.
