Czym jest kartuskie arboretum i dlaczego warto się tam wybrać?
W cieplejsze dni warto wybrać się na leśne spacery – przekonują kartuscy leśnicy. Warto, bo w Kartuzach funkcjonuje Arboretum, czyli przyrodnicza ścieżka edukacyjna.
– O to miejsce przez kilka wieków dbali kartuscy leśnicy, sadząc nasiona sprowadzone z Ameryki Północnej – informuje współtwórca ścieżki – Jacek Duda.
Na powierzchni ponad 4 hektarów znajdują się 23 gatunki drzew, z których większość jest w wieku od 100 do 170 lat. Na każdym drzewie widnieją opisy i nazwy gatunkowe. Od wczesnej wiosny warto przychodzić i obserwować budzącą się do życia przyrodę. Na kilometrowym odcinku Arboretum znajdziemy takie rzadkie gatunki drzew jak: żywotnik olbrzymi, daglezja, sosna wejmutka, modrzew europejski czy wiąz górski. Wejście na ścieżkę edukacyjną znajduje się przy drodze prowadzącej na cmentarz w Bilowie. Wstęp przez cały rok jest bezpłatny.
